Le 13 avril 2025, Lepu Sodium, une filiale de GreatPower Technology Co. Ltd, a signé un accord de coopération stratégique avec Norinco Mining – COMIKA pour moderniser l’approvisionnement énergétique de son installation minière par l’intégration de 65 MW solaire PV + 135 MWh batterie de stockage ‘’BESS’’pour fonctionner en mode hybride avec un générateur diesel existant de 16 MW afin de faire face aux longues coupures au niveau de la source d’alimentation causées par la capacité insuffisante du réseau local qui affecte fortement les revenus quotidiens et le développement de la mine. 

En s’appuyant sur une plate-forme numérique de gestion de l’énergie, le système permettra une planification intelligente, réduisant les coûts d’électricité d’environ 60 % par rapport au système traditionnel avec un générateur diesel qui consomme en outre un OPEX élevé. 

Un modèle de transition écologique : Une réduction de l’empreinte carbone de plus de 20 000 tonnes par an, aidant Norinco Mining – COMIKA à atteindre ses objectifs ESG et fournissant un modèle reproductible pour la création de ‘’mines vertes’’ en Afrique.

On April 13, 2025, Lepu Sodium a GreatPower Technology Co. Ltd subsidiary signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Norinco Mining – COMIKAto modernize the energy supply of its mining facility by integration of 65 MW PV + 135 MWh battery energy storage ‘’BESS’’ to operate in hybrid mode with an existing 16 MW diesel generator to address the long power shortages caused local grid insufficient capacity that are heavily affecting the daily revenue and the development of the mine. 

By leveraging a digital energy management platform, the system will enable intelligent scheduling, reducing electricity costs by approximately 60% compared to traditional system with diesel generator that additionallydraws a high OPEX. 

A Model for Ecological Transition: Carbon footprint reduction by over 20,000 tons per year, helping Norinco Mining COMIKA achieves its ESG goals and providing a replicable model for the creation of « Green Mines » in Africa.

FITA2025 was a resounding success with the conclusion of two intense days of exchanges, meetings, and commitments. 

This event brought together participants from around the world, all driven by the desire to build the Africa of tomorrow.

The discussions addressed crucial themes for the continent’s development, including innovation, sustainability, and synergies between the public and private sectors. Speakers, experts, and thought leaders shared their visions and experiences, creating a conducive environment for fruitful collaborations. 

Notably, high-level personalities were present, such as:

•Welcome address to the Minister by Mr. Guylain Tchibamba,Managing Director of ICONS RDC, an entity designated to liaise and exploit opportunities between solution providers and mining, industrial and commercial clients.

• The speech from the Embassy of the DRC in Tunisia,

• The speech by Mr. Joel Kabuya, Deputy Administrator of Ecobank,

• The speech by Mr. Laurent Kazadi, representative and coordinator of the Congolese delegation at this forum

• And Mr. Ahmed Ben Haj Amor, a speaker during this panel and representing GreatPower.
